Motionhouse education and participatory work

Motionhouse has an enviable reputation for delivering excellent education and participatory work. We firmly believe that there is a fundamental and intrinsic link between the creation of performance work and the leading of participatory projects and the combination of these elements is fundamental to our overall programme.

We deliver a wide range of teaching and training projects to all ages and abilities, from 'Fundance' sessions for children and mixed ability adult community classes, to mainstream school-based teaching, to more challenging workshops and residencies geared towards those with a more skilled dance or teaching background. Our teaching is accessible and inspiring, building on each person's capabilities and emphasising a sense of achievement for all.

We deliver a comprehensive programme of outreach activity to accompany our touring, and also hold a variety of classes and projects in our dance studio in Spencer Yard, Leamington Spa. As the focus of our educational activity mirrors that of our performance work we also welcome opportunities to develop participatory performance projects, often in response to a site or location.
