Broken is an adrenaline-filled multi-media spectacle exploring our relationship with the Earth. The production has seen phenomenal success since its creation in 2013, combing Motionhouse’s renowned dance-circus with athletic contact work, spectacular acrobatics, a gripping narrative, a revolutionary set design, and digital imagery that melds with the performers as they move.

Fast-paced, gripping, moving and exhilarating, Broken take audiences on a journey into the earth, as they have never seen it before…

Touring both in the UK and internationally to great acclaim since 2013, Broken has seen extraordinary success with audiences, and the production has now toured four times in the UK, returning to theatres by popular demand, as well as sell-out runs to Cyprus, Denmark, Italy and Germany. Feedback from audience members is that it's inspiring, exciting and thought-provoking.

Designed by long-term collaborator Simon Dormon, with projections by international digital innovators Logela Multimedia, Broken is an unashamedly visual spectacle: ravishing, delicate and poignant, taking the audience on a journey into the earth as they have never seen it before.

Broken premiered at Warwick Arts Centre on 2 October 2013.

Broken is commissioned by Warwick Arts Centre, Watford Palace Theatre, Blackpool Grand, mac and Swindon Dance.

"The evening is a full-out assault on the senses: aural and visual. Broken is about more than technological trickery, though. It is packed to bursting with impressive dance"

Dancing Times

"The fierce, fearless performers portray roots breaking rocks, and dive horizontally through a fiery backcloth like eruptions of lava, while a cave woman is spooked by shadowy figures and stalked on giant stilts, like some primal fear"

The Guardian
