Motionhouse is renowned for ambitious experimentation with the performance environment and for developing large-scale participatory performance events in which setting, action and context collide.

Visually stunning and often epic in scale Kevin Finnan has created work in response to a wide range of places and spaces including a tidal Cornish beach, a stately home, the wings of a maximum security prison and Copenhagen police headquarters.

Involving hundreds of performers –

with workshop participants frequently performing alongside professionals – and collaborations with visual artists, composers, musicians and aerialists,

the work is always striking in its vision and has featured cranes, diggers, pyrotechnics, giant sandcastles and huge fairytale ball-gowns.
