"In this production I attempted to make something like a poem. The intention was to capture something of the mystery and struggle involved in trying to actually communicate truthfully to someone else"
Kevin Finnan, October 2002

Volatile looks at communication. At how we struggle and strive in a meddling world, looking for that elusive meaning or word or letter to communicate. And yet it is so often missed, misunderstood or unopened amidst our passions, prejudices and the interventions of fate.

Five characters piece together what they can from the bombardment of the everyday.

Volatile was performed on an incredible two storey set designed by arch collaborator, Simon Dormon, and a fresh and passionate score of new and found music by Sophy Smith.

Volatile toured extensively across the UK from October 2002 to November 2003. Volatile and its partner satellites were performed 74 times, reaching an audience in excess of 12,000 people.
