Arcadio/ Déjà Vu
Inspired by One Hundred Years of Solitude by Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Déjà Vu was a daring collaboration between Kevin and Louise and leading Spanish installation artist Rosa Sanchez. From this rich source, Rosa created Memory and the setting for Arcadio. Motionhouse created Arcadio, a dance theatre production with live music, and Déjà Vu a series of performance episodes for Memory.
These performance episodes led the audience through the installation. Drawing on themes of violence, lust, sensuality and prophecy, each episode was a fragment of memory - from half remembered relationships to full blown nightmares.
Arcadio followed its premiere at the Ikon Gallery with a national tour of the UK.
