Geisha
Through art and conversation we struggle to present ourselves, trying on roles for other people's pleasure, donning a guise to get what we want.
Geisha was about our insecurities and longings, our need to share our lives with others. What games will we play in the endless dance of rejecter and rejected? It questioned whether the object of our desires really knows what they want. Or whether they see us as we see ourselves.
Geisha was one of a series of commissions by Warwick Arts Centre in celebration of its 20th anniversary.
