Captive in Florida, USA

11th April 2017

7 & 8 April 2017

Last week, Motionhouse dancers Becci, Chris, Junior and Martina travelled to Sarasota to perform at Florida’s largest museum, The Ringling. The beautiful seaside setting provided the perfect backdrop for four performances of Captive. The company was blown away by the welcome they received and by the incredible audiences who came along to watch the show – they hope to be back in The USA very soon!

The Ringling

The Ringling, the State Art Museum of Florida, is home to one of the preeminent art and cultural collections in the United States. Its story begins nearly a century ago, with the circus impresario John Ringling.

From the beginning of the piece, when the performers strain against their recent captivity with disbelief and raw emotion, to the final unsettling resolution (which I won’t give away here), there is as much to trigger your thought process as there is to mesmerize your eyes
