We’re hoping to re-start our weekly programme of dance classes for under 18s in our studio in January. As we are in tier 3, our classes for adults will need to remain online for the moment. But we have some very good news – our community class teacher Olly has decided to carry on sharing his daily class online until the 17th of December. Check out the schedule below:
11am to 12pm: Pro class
5.45pm – 6.30pm: Adult evening class
4.45- 5.30pm: Juniors (8-12 yrs)
7pm-8pm: Motionhouse Youth (closed class for our existing youth company)
There is a suggested donation of £4 per class to Motionhouse to help us through this difficult time while we can’t perform and have had to cancel our classes again, which can be done via our website but if you are not able to donate, please don’t worry. It would be great to see as many of you online as possible.
Just go to our page on Gymcatch to find out more and book your place.
Motionhouse has an outstanding reputation for delivering excellent education and participatory work, developing the fundamental link between the creation of our performance work and our participatory projects. Our participatory programme, like our professional work, encourages participants to be creative, strong, dedicated, curious and adventurous. Our teaching is accessible and inspiring, we nurture a fully inclusive environment where all people are welcome where they will feel safe, accepted and challenged regardless of age or ability.
Under normal circumstances we deliver a wide range of creative learning, participation and engagement projects, including:
- workshops and residencies in schools – full schemes of work, cross curricular topics and pure dance skills, summer or Christmas performances, special projects including taking our performance work into assemblies
- creative residencies for community and youth dance groups/companies, advanced training courses, professional development and masterclasses
- community classes for children, young people, older people, people living with a disability or impairment, families and carers
- teacher training days – aiming to instil newfound confidence in the facilitation and leading of dance at all key stages
Recognising talent, commitment and dedication, we also provide invaluable industry experience for young people wanting to pursue careers in dance and the arts by offering placements, apprenticeships, professional training opportunities and bespoke mentoring.
We are an Arts Award Centre offering qualifications at Bronze, Silver & Gold levels and, we are an Arts Award Supporter.
