BLOCK to premiere in South Korea

18th September 2018

BLOCK, our exhilarating collaboration with our friends at NoFit State will be making its Korean premiere at the Seoul Street Arts Festival, Seoul, South Korea in October 2018!

BLOCK will be performed on Gwanghwamun Square on the 5th and 6th of October 2018 as part of Seoul Street Art Festival. The festival has been running since 2003 with the aims of highlighting the history, spaces and diversity of Seoul’s Metropolitan City as well as uniting the city, people and art together,  giving them a chance to find new attractions within the familiar city space. BLOCK goes hand in hand with the philosophy of the festival, transforming a daily space into a stage whilst demolishing the boundaries between the audience and performers.

With twenty oversized blocks continuously deconstructed and reformed into an infinite variety of shapes for the performers to play on, move with and explore.  BLOCK uses a dance-circus mix to tell the story of life in the city; its contradictions and challenges, with its urban themes making it a perfect match for the soaring city streets of Seoul, the capital of South Korea.

Since its creation in 2016, BLOCK has wowed audiences around the world, taking us to some incredible places including Australia, Germany, France, Belgium, Austria, Hungary, Italy and Spain, as well as touring extensively over the UK. What an amazing experience it has been so far and such a fitting ending for the 2018 tour to perform internationally in South Korea for the very first time.

Keep up to date with us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to see what the BLOCK cast are getting up to in their final few weeks of the tour!
