Last week we caught up with Motionhouse Youth as they watched the company rehearse Charge in preparation for our upcoming spring tour. Over the two days the group were able to gain an insight into the hard work that goes into rehearsing a show as well as deepening their understanding of life in the professional dance industry, including the process of training up new company members and getting to see how the dancers work with Artistic Director, Kevin Finnan.
Helping young people develop skills is a big part of what we do. Our Motionhouse Youth group benefit from fantastic training and performance opportunities – and they’re a really dedicated group of young people who show particular passion and talent for dance. We like to give them as many opportunities as we can for them to get to know the professional company. Watching the company in rehearsal is an example of this, providing invaluable industry experience and inspiration for young people wanting to pursue a career in dance – or who just want to learn more about it.
