Last week 17 participants from all over the UK joined us for a high-energy and exciting 3-day intensive, giving them the chance to immerse themselves in our company life while learning from our unique dance-circus style.
This Professional Intensive, led by Senior Dancer Daniel Massarella and Rehearsal Director Junior Cunningham, allowed participants to explore contact work, partnering and lifting, but, most importantly, focused on encouraging and nurturing them to overcome physical limits and fear. As participants got a chance to get familiar with working with sets and at height, they were soon jumping through, over and from them by the end of the intensive!
Participants also got the opportunity to work with Artistic Director Kevin Finnan, who set creative tasks to choreograph group phrases and duets. The intensive culminated with the participants performing their original pieces to Kevin, the dancers and the Motionhouse Youth Board, before enjoying a rehearsal run of our outdoor show WILD.
