As lockdown continues, and with all of our immediately upcoming performances and community engagement work sadly being cancelled or postponed until further notice, we wanted to make sure you’d heard about everything we’re doing online.
Also, despite the challenges, our Artistic Director Kevin Finnan is continuing to make our new production Nobody – see below for an update (and above for a beautiful image from our pre-lockdown photoshoot).
WATCH OUR WORK ONLINE
To help in the effort across the arts sector to support people during lockdown, for the first time ever, we’ve shared our full Earth Trilogy online, along with EXO, our production for dancers and JCB diggers.
So, if you haven’t tuned in yet, don’t miss this opportunity to watch Charge, Broken, Scattered and EXO online – all shows will remain on our #TogetherInIsolation playlist on our YouTube channel until the end of May.
ONLINE CLASSES FOR ALL AGES
Back in March when the lockdown started, our dancers set to work to create some amazing classes to keep you busy, motivated and fit while you can’t take part in your usual activities.
Our dancers like to work hard…so there are more than 30 classes to choose from, all with subtitles if you need them, for ages 3 to over 60 and a range of abilities from beginners to professional! PLUS some audition tips from 4 of our dancers.
Exercising safely at home
You should be in good general health and be able to participate in exercise to undertake any of our online classes.
By taking part in these online exercise programmes, you acknowledge and take responsibility for you (and/or your children’s) own health & safety. Motionhouse does not take responsibility for any injury caused during the participation of our online videos and reminds all viewers to practice dance safely whilst at home. Be aware of your own body and its limitations and always take good care when undertaking dance exercise
Parents – please ensure there is enough space to do the exercises before your child starts the class. Remember, exercise safely, take care and hope you enjoy! If you are under 18, please make sure you have your parents’ consent before following a class.
NOBODY CREATION CONTINUES VIRTUALLY
While we wait for the time when we can get back into the studio to finish creating our upcoming production Nobody, Artistic Director Kevin Finnan is continuing to work on the show virtually with our artistic team. He’s been working on the digital projections with Logela Multimedia and on the music with composers Tim Dickinson and Sophy Smith.
