Celebrating 35 years – large-scale spectacle

10th July 2023

Over the past 35 years, we’ve carved out a niche for ourselves as the ‘go to’ company to create large-scale spectacles and celebratory events.

In June 2023, we were incredibly proud to play a critical role in the star-studded National Lottery’s Big Eurovision Welcome event in Liverpool on Sunday 7 May, watched by a crowd of 25,000 people. Working with a range of talented people and organisations, our visionary Kevin Finnan was Artistic Director of this spectacular outdoor event, brilliantly assisted by Daniel Massarella as Assistant Director.

Watch some of the highlights of the show below:

Other spectacular outdoor production in recent years have included Wondrous Stories, the opening show of the Birmingham 2022 Festival, which was seen by 22,000 people free of charge in March 2022, Lumen, a spectacular large-scale outdoor show, created as part of the cultural programme in the lead-up to the TM2021 European Capital of Culture celebrations taking place in Timișoara, Romania and Watermusic, part of the Aarhus 2017 European Capital of Culture celebrations, in Denmark.

These productions are really special moments, celebrating the location where they are happening, as well as the people who live there. People from the local community are always part of the cast, helping people feel connected to and proud of their home town.

A proud moment for us came when our Artistic Director Kevin Finnan was asked to be Choreographer and Movement Director of the Opening Ceremony of the London 2012 Paralympic Games. Watching the brilliant performances by the integrated cast either in the stadium that night or on TV along with millions of people around the world was a moment to be remembered.
