Behind the scenes of our new show Hidden

1st November 2024

We’ve been keeping things under wraps, but at last the time has come to give you a peek behind the scenes into the creation of our next thrilling dance-circus touring production Hidden.

It’s only every four years that we have the opportunity to make a new full length theatre production, so this is a really exciting and creative time for us. Creating new work for our audiences to enjoy is at the heart of everything we do.

As our Artistic Director Kevin and the rest of the creative team work on Hidden over the next few months before its premiere, we will be sharing exclusive behind the scenes videos and interviews with the team. We hope these will whet your appetite while you wait for us to reveal the full show on stage.

We’ll be giving you sneak peek insights into the ways we will be taking our renowned dance-circus fusion to new heights, how we’ll be developing our use of immersive digital mapping to create worlds on stage, interviews with the dancers, our composers, and much more. For the moment, we’ll be keeping the incredible modular set for Hidden a secret (the biggest movable structure that we’ve used to date!), but we promise that we will do a big reveal at some point soon, so that you don’t have to wait too long.

Look out in the coming weeks on our blog and across our social media channels for our first interview with Kevin telling you more about his vision for Hidden, with some early insights into what audiences can expect to see.

We’re really looking forward to sharing Hidden at its world premiere in February 2025 at Warwick Arts Centre (6-9 February). Hidden will then start its 14-venue premiere tour across the UK and Europe, followed by a second 16-venue tour starting in autumn 2025. If you haven’t got your tickets yet, have a look at our tour dates page to find the venue nearest to you. Not all dates have gone on sale, so if there’s nothing on the list in your area, please do keep an eye on our social media or sign up to our newsletter to be the first to know when we release more performances.

We’d like to thank the organisations who have made the creation of Hidden possible – without them, we would not be able to make this thrilling new work for audiences to enjoy.

Thanks to Arts Council England for our NPO funding, which helps us to make new work. Thanks also to FABRIC, Birmingham Hippodrome and Warwick Arts Centre for their generous commissioning support and to the John Ellerman Foundation for their grant enabling us to undertake several periods of R&D and for the generous support they have given to help us bring Hidden to life. We’re also grateful to the UK’s Innovation Agency, Innovate UK, for the support they are providing to enable Kevin to explore new and ground-breaking avenues in the use of digital projection mapping in Hidden.

There will also be ways for you to support the creation of Hidden too…watch this space in the coming weeks to find out more!
