Hello my name is Alba Keaney. For my work experience, I was lucky enough to get an insight into the behind the scenes of all the hard work that goes into Motionhouse.
As someone who is a dancer and has a passion for it, it was very eye opening and inspiring to see how much work and dedication it takes to run Motionhouse. Over the past two days I have spoken to many members of staff about their job role and what comes with it including creative learning, administration, marketing and programming and logistics. For creative learning, I was able to create a learning plan for Ready, Steady, Dance sessions that Motionhouse deliver in libraries. It was interesting and fun as I got to use my own imagination and creativity to plan an activity for children. For administration, I was able to see how to take care of the building and how studio hire works.
All the staff have been so welcoming and kind and you can see their passion and how much they care about Motionhouse through their work. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time here and I will take everything I have learnt with me for the future. If you ever have the chance to work with Motionhouse, whether it’s for work experience or to dance, you should take it.
