We Feel The Need… The Need For Speed (and Light)!

#Motionhouse30

23rd February 2018

In our latest look back for #Motionhouse30, we revisit the gorgeous Speed and Light.

Premiering on 21 January 1992, Speed and Light was a collaboration with film-maker Christophe Gowans and composers Ray Lee and Harry Dawes. Audiences saw movement, projected film and live music combine to create a world of motion, light and dreams – a world of speed and light, which the Birmingham Post called “completely hypnotic.”

Directed and choreographed by our own Kevin Finnan and Louise Richards, the show was performed by Sue Cox, Jake McLellan, Louise Richards, Sasha Roubicek and David Waring.

Here are some beautifully ethereal images from the show, photographed by Hugo Glendinning. What do they make you think of? Or maybe you saw the show yourself? Let us know, and join the conversation online on Facebook and Twitter, by using #Motionhouse30.
