BLOCK Tour 2018: Company Returns From Australia – Next Stop, Germany!

23rd April 2018

The BLOCK company has made a triumphant return home to the UK, following their trip to Australia to perform to audiences from all around the Commonwealth, at Festival 2018 – the arts and cultural programme of the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games in Australia!

Audiences on the Gold Coast came out in large numbers to watch BLOCK, a collaboration with NoFit State, which was performed 10 times over a week at Surfers Paradise and Broad Beach. The Australian trip marked the start of a 6-month tour, which will see BLOCK and its cast of seven dancers and circus performers visit festivals and outdoor events in the UK, and across Europe, taking work created here in Leamington Spa to Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Hungary and Spain.

“We are delighted to have been selected to perform at such a prestigious global event as Festival 2018 in this, our 30th anniversary year, and are looking forward to taking the show out on tour to new audiences around the UK and Europe over the summer months,” said Kevin Finnan MBE, Artistic Director of Motionhouse.

Here’s are some snapshots of the company’s time in Australia, complete with beautiful blue skies. They’re now excitedly gearing up for the next stop on the tour – Kulturesommer-Eröffnung 2018 Neuwied, in Germany, from Saturday 28 – Sunday 29 April!
