WILD: Themes and Inspirations

Introducing our new weekly blog about WILD, our brand new outdoor show currently in creation. Check in every week on ‘WILD Wednesday’ to see what we’ve been up to!

This week marked the start of WILD rehearsals following a four-week research and development period at the end of last year. It is the beginning of an exciting creation process for our dancers as they explore the set and work with our Artistic Director Kevin Finnan to create the content for the show.

WILD explores our disconnect with the natural environment and how, in a world where many of us live in large urban areas, the wild environment is becoming increasingly alien to us. Check out this exclusive interview with Kevin as he discusses the themes and inspirations behind the work:

Introducing WILD

“Making new work is always an exciting time for me and for the company. Creating work for outdoor audiences is very different to how we create our theatre productions and brings with it a different set of challenges and opportunities – which as a company we enjoy exploring. The content we have been working on during the R&D period is deep and arresting while the set is a unique and original challenge, so making WILD is an exciting process, which we are really enjoying and we look forward to seeing where this journey takes us.”
