Join our Youth Board!

14th May 2019

We’re recruiting young people aged between 11-25 years for our new Youth Board!

What is a Youth Board?

This new group will meet 4 times a year and will be a forum that represents the views of young people. The aim is to give young people a voice and enable you to make your views heard in the creative process when we plan our programmes, including our classes, workshops, holiday intensives and much more. It will give young people the chance to discuss relevant issues, engage with Motionhouse directors and contribute to future development of new projects and initiatives led by the company.

Why should you get involved?

This board will be a chance to develop the following skills:-

·        communication and leadership

·        social – you’ll meet new friends

·        develop your confidence, motivation, ownership

·        analyse and give us feedback

·        critique our social media

·        decision making

·        problem solving

·        public speaking (if you want)

There will be opportunities to engage with the main Motionhouse company including previews of the company in rehearsal and other perks throughout the year. There are many reasons why this is a great opportunity – not least because it’ll also look amazing on your CV! Our next show, Nobody, will go into the first stages of research and development in the autumn of 2019 – you can be involved in the development of this new work. We want to ensure that all our work is relevant to all young people, all the time. By being an active member of our new youth board, you can tell us how.

Who are we looking for?

Any young person interested in our work aged between 11-25 years. We are looking for 8 young people in total.

How much do I need to commit?

If you are selected to join our youth board we expect you to attend a minimum of 4 meetings per year to keep your membership active. The first meeting will be held on Thursday 18th July, 6:30-8:30pm at Spencer Yard in Leamington Spa. This is a volunteer role and reasonable travel expenses will be paid.
