Covid-19 is the biggest challenge we’ve faced since Motionhouse was founded 32 years ago in 1988. Having lost all of our summer outdoor touring bookings, and with the premiere of our new production Nobody postponed until at least April 2021 (originally planned for August 2020), by the time we next perform it will be more than a year since we have been able to share our live work with our audiences. During that period, we will have lost substantial amounts of earned income.
This affects our long-term sustainability, and the longer this crisis for the performing arts continues, the more of a challenge it will be for us to rebuild.
Donations to the ‘Help Keep Motionhouse in Motion’ campaign over the upcoming festive season will help us get through this period so that we can continue to make work that inspires audiences and resume our education and outreach activities as soon as the situation allows.
