Guest blog – my placement at Motionhouse

11th May 2023

Hello, I’m Molly. I’m a third year Theatre and Performance Studies student at the University of Warwick and I have been on a work placement with the Motionhouse team since January.

I have had an incredible time working with Motionhouse, I’ve learnt a lot, gained so much experience and have felt so welcomed by the team throughout my time here. My placement has now drawn to a close and I am sad to say goodbye. This has been a fantastic opportunity and I’m delighted to share some of the exciting things I have been up to!

Since I started, I supported the team at shows and events in Leamington, Lichfield, and Birmingham, been behind the scenes at photoshoots, seen both Starchitects and WILD, have helped make promotional timelines and written blogs for the website.

My highlight has to be supporting the team at the Starchitects Birmingham and Lichfield shows. It was great to get stuck in, collecting feedback, and selling merchandise and I even got to see the show!

I feel very lucky to have been able to do so much. Not many student placements offer such a wide range of exciting experiences and responsibilities.

Big thanks to the Motionhouse office team for making my time on placement so exciting enjoyable and for being so welcoming and friendly!

I would 100% recommend applying for a placement here at Motionhouse. You will learn loads and get to be a part of something really inspiring.
