As part of our role in supporting young dance artists and the dance sector, we’re proud to offer a range of training opportunities for young professionals.
As part of this work, every year we’re delighted to work with our partners at Northern School of Contemporary Dance to provide two Professional Placements for young performers through the school’s postgraduate programme. This year, Dylan Davies and Sophie O’Leary have been with us on the placement scheme. We’ve loved having them with us, and we think it’s fair to say that during their time with us they’ve had some pretty amazing performance opportunities.
Both Dylan and Sophie have toured with us as part of the cast for Starchitects, doing a fantastic job performing to children and families up and down the UK on the Starchitects tour. They were also part of the cast for The National Lottery’s New Year’s Eve Big Bash on ITV and The National Lottery Big Eurovision Welcome in Liverpool on the 7th of May, with highlights featured on BBC One’s Eurovision Welcomes the World on Bank holiday Monday.
Well done to Sophie and Dylan for everything you’ve achieved this year – you’ve been brilliant!
And drumroll… we’re delighted to announce that despite their placement now being over, both Dylan and Sophie will be joining the company as employed dancers for the HENGE residency at Bluestone National Park Resort, Wales in July.
