Celebrating 35 years – pioneers of outdoor dance

27th May 2023

This week we’re featuring our outdoor productions in our series of blogs to celebrate our 35th birthday.

Our outdoor work is really important to us because it allows us to give people access to high quality dance-circus free of charge in the heart of their community, to be enjoyed free of physical, cultural or financial barriers.

We were pioneers of outdoor dance, taking dance to non-dance audiences by touring outdoor work and we’re proud that since 2001 this has been a key part of our activity. We currently have five outdoor touring productions in our rep, including 3 duets, our longstanding 4-hander Captive and our flagship show WILD, last year performing outdoors to more than 75,000 people. We’ve just started our 2023 summer touring season, and WILD kicked off its touring in Peterborough last weekend at Peterborough Celebrates, where we captured some of the images below.

Next weekend, we’ll be performing WILD at DOCA Devizes, but with more than 50 outdoor performances booked over the summer months, we do hope to see you on the road somewhere this summer!

Check our tour dates page to see if we’re coming somewhere near you (dates are still being added, so keep checking back).
