This week, for our 35th Anniversary blog, we’re celebrating the fact that so many talented dancers from as far away as Canada, the US and across Europe decided to come and audition with us earlier this month. We were overwhelmed by the number of registrations we received – an incredible 620. It’s always been important to us that our auditions remain as open as they can be to allow as many people as possible to have the opportunity to audition with us. This time, we were able to extend our process over 5 days to enable us to invite more than 300 people to come and share their artistic talent with us. The whole performing company were involved in every step of the auditions to ensure that the process is as open and fair as possible and that everyone had the opportunity to contribute to decision making.
We’d like to thank all the brilliant dancers and circus artists who took the time to make the trip to attend the auditions at Leamington Town Hall. It was great to meet everyone, and we really enjoyed welcoming you all and seeing so much talent in our space. Thank you for all the hard work and enthusiasm that you brought to our week of auditions and a huge well done to everyone. And well done to our Programme Coordinator Tom who organised the week so that it ran like clockwork!
We are committed to giving everyone a worthwhile experience as a thank you for the time that artists have invested in coming to audition, so we always try to make our auditions a positive and enriching experience, even for those who don’t end up working with us. We’re really pleased that we seem to have achieved this again this time, as some of the feedback from auditionees has indicated:
