Wondrous Wednesday – Meet Critical Mass

9th March 2022

It’s Wondrous Wednesday; our blog dedicated to Wondrous Stories! Created and directed by our Artistic Director Kevin Finnan, this extraordinary large-scale production will be the opening show of the Birmingham 2022 Festival.

This week we’re featuring Critical Mass, a brand new inclusive dance collective, based across the West Midlands for young people aged 16-30.

Our fabulous mass cast for Wondrous Stories is made up of participants from Critical Mass, as well as performers from Freewheelin (an inclusive wheelchair dance group), Motionhouse Youth, Motionhouse community class participants, Timmins Academy and the Centre of Advanced Training programme run by DanceXchange and Sampad.

We interviewed some of the Critical Mass participants performing in Wondrous Stories to find out what they love about performing in the show. Watch the video below to find out what it’s like being part of such a big group of people working towards something amazing!

Don’t miss the amazing performances from our mass cast in Wondrous Stories! The show will be performed in Centenary Square, Birmingham with FREE performances every evening from March 17 – 20 2022.

If you can’t make it to Birmingham, join us for a live-streamed performance of Wondrous Stories on Friday 18 March at 8.30pm (GMT) on our YouTube channel.
