Careers in the Performing Arts Workshops

Inspiring the Next Generation of Arts Professionals

We’re passionate about inspiring young people and raising awareness of the diverse career pathways available within the performing arts. Our tailored Careers in the Performing Arts workshops are designed to spark curiosity, build confidence, and offer real insight into the creative industries through engaging and practical-based learning.

Our careers workshops are designed to do more than introduce students to the range of careers available at Motionhouse as they provide a dynamic and engaging look at the wider arts industry, helping young people understand the breadth of opportunities within the sector and inspiring them to find their own path.

What to expect:

  • Interactive movement activities: energetic games and physical tasks that bring Motionhouse’s unique style to life
  • Beyond the stage: insight into the many roles within a professional dance company — from production and marketing to education and administration
  • Creative industry awareness: activities that promote understanding of the arts sector as a whole and encourage creative thinking
  • Celebrating individuality: opportunities for students to collaborate, develop teamwork skills, and discover how their unique qualities are their greatest strengths
  • Exploring the arts in society: a deeper look into the who, what, where, when, why, and how of the arts, and why they matter
  • Optional assembly presentation: a school — or college — wide session offering a broader overview of careers in the arts

We’re excited to offer this opportunity to champion the value of the arts in education and to support and inspire the next generation of creative professionals. Whether you want to introduce younger pupils to creative thinking, support GCSE or BTEC students in exploring their next steps, or help post-16 learners build real-world understanding, our workshops are a powerful way to introduce the vast amount of careers on offer within the arts industry.
