For Key stages 3 to 5

Whether your students are working towards GCSE, BTEC, or A Level, or you’re simply looking for enrichment/extra-curricular activities, Motionhouse has range of workshops and exciting opportunities on offer for students to learn from a professional touring company.

We can work with students in Key Stages 3, 4 & 5 to deliver a wide range of creative learning activity, including but not limited to:

  • Exploring themes and repertoire from current touring productions
  • Contemporary, contact work, floorwork, partnering, lifting and acrobatic technique
  • Choreolab or choreographic intensives
  • Develop Motionhouse themed schemes of work, BTEC or RSL performance/technique modules or meet BTEC Tech Awards (Levels 1-3) component criteria ensuring the best possible grades for your students
  • Support in Bronze, Silver or Gold Arts Award
  • Performance intensives/residencies – usually over 3-5 days to create a dance performance based on a piece of Motionhouse repertoire. Previous projects have led to performances in schools, theatres, festivals, and at special events
  • Alternatively, we offer Experience Days where you can visit us in our beautiful rehearsal and creation space in Leamington Spa. Your students can enjoy a “day in the life of dancer” and take part in company class, watch rehearsals, learn something new and get a chance to speak to the dancers in a Q&A session.

For students looking to pursue dance at a higher level, gain experience prior to auditions and/or industry insights; we have a range of training opportunities and workshops, as well as being able to offer dance and office-based work placements for young people looking to gain experience in the industry.

Have you seen the education packs in our online shop?

We have had our works featured on past GCSE Dance programmes of study and we have since developed a range of educational resources which include audio soundtracks, full-length films/sections of the work by chapter (DVD format), lesson ideas and teaching points for use in school (fully adaptable).
