Celebrating 35 years – our collaborators

19th December 2023

This week, as our year of 35th birthday blogs draws to an end, we’re celebrating our artistic collaborators – the group of incredible and talented artists who we work with to create our thrilling productions.

From Simon Dormon, our set designer, who has worked with us since our very first show, to Cathy Edolls who joined the team just this year designing costumes for the remount of HENGE as well as Starchitects Save Santa!, we have a brilliant and dedicated team of collaborators who help us to bring our magical shows to life.

So in this week’s blog, we’re giving a big shout out to Simon Dormon for all of the brilliant sets he has created for us since 1988, to Sophy Smith and Tim Dickinson for the awe inspiring music they have composed for over 29 Motionhouse productions, to Karlos and Imanol from Logela Multimedia who have worked with us since 2009 creating the projections that help shape the magical worlds onstage that we are known for, to Natasha Chivers for the brilliant lighting design for our past 4 touring productions, to Sofie Layton who designed the costumes for Broken, Captive and WILD, Sophie Donaldson who created the costumes for Nobody, Starchitects and the first iteration of HENGE as well as leading on costume design for Wondrous Stories, to Chris Marshall, who composed the music for HENGE, and Cathy Edolls who also worked on costumes for Wondrous Stories with students at Birmingham City University and this year for Starchitects Save Santa! and HENGE.

The list could go on…so to all of the brilliant artists who we have worked with over the past 35 years and who are not listed here, a huge THANK YOU! You have all been part of the jigsaw of our 35-year journey.
